Morphology
Trailing, deciduous shrub. Leaves opposite, simple, obovate. Flowers 5-merous, small, greenish. Fruit a pink, warty, 3-lobed capsule. Seed brown with red aril.

Wetland indicator: Upland
An attractive groundcover that could be useful in a woodland setting, although it would probably be difficult to find this species being offered for sale.
